One type a food I absolutely love is Mexican food.  I can eat guacamole and a burrito probably anytime of day on any day of the week!  I have had my fair share of Mexican restaurant experiences.  So when the oh so popular Rocco's Tacos opened their fourth location in Palm Beach Gardens, I was super excited!   If you haven't heard of Rocco's, you might live in a hole because this is one of the most talked about hot spots since I have moved here.  Rocco's is a fun, trendy place to enjoy a taste of Mexico and a shot of one of their 225 varieties of Tequila.  In college, I only knew the name Jose Cuervo (and we were not friends), but I love how "Jose" is no where to be found on their extensive drink menu.  So many delicious Margaritas, but I personally love their homemade Sangria.
There is so many things I love about Roccos Taco!  The atmosphere, the people, the food, the drinks, and of  course the Guac!

We started with a Margarita!

And some Guacamole.  They make the Guacamole right in front of you!  This is something that I absolutely love because you know it is homemade and fresh!  I always enjoy table side presentations. DELICIOUS!

I was soo excited about the Guacamole, I forgot to take a picture till it was pretty much gone.  It was creamy, fresh, and I like how they don't put a ton of onions in it.

As I said before, Burritos are my all time favorite Mexican dish!  So Brandt and I shared the Wet Burrito Con Rojo.  The Burrito was more then plenty for 2.  It was filled with beans, rice, lettuce, and cheese.  YUM!

Mike had the chicken quesadillas.  Good, but really it was strictly chicken and cheese.  I would have preferred some beans and veggies in it, but that is a personal preference.

Kelli had the Chimichanga Nationale!  Spicy Chicken, onion, rice, beans, and red and green salsa!

Andy had the famous Tacos!  He got Pork Tacos that looked delish.  I love how the tacos are so cheap.  Each one is $2.95.  You cant beat that and especially in Palm Beach!  Great place for a reasonable lunch!

Rocco's Tacos never disappoints.  It is Great place for Happy Hour after work, family night with the kids, or even date night!  It appeals to everyone and is so much fun!  A stop at the restroom is even entertaining with the movie Three Amigos playing!  If you are lucky, Rocco may be even hop on the bar and give out Patron shots late night!

So  put on your most festive party pants and come down to Rocco's for a mean you will absolutely love!

"Talk Loud, Eat Well, Laugh Often," that is the motto of Cucina Dell'Arte.  Brandt and I met some friends last week at Cucina for a nice Italian meal located just over the bridge on Palm Beach Island.  Cucina is a charming Italian restaurant that never sleeps.  This restaurant is open from 7am -3pm everyday, even holidays. I dont think Denny's is even open that much.  Cucina serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even late night.  The atmosphere is quite eclectic with tables and chairs very much with an Italian decor, but in the middle of the bar you will find one of the largest silver disco balls I have ever seen.  Cucina appeals to all age groups, the young twenty's looking for a night at the town as well as the older billionaires who live on the Island.  There has even been sightings of Rod Stewart and Serena Williams.

Once seated, we are greeted by a very energetic waitress.  She was passionate about pretty much everything on the menu.  When asked what are her favorite dishes or signature dishes of Cucina, we heard about every item in detail on the menu.  This is a small pet peeve of mine.  Really!! Everything on the menu is that Amazing, I don't think so! After the 10 minute speal, I really needed a drink.  I ordered a fairly priced cab and we ordered some appetizers for the table.

When Cucina serves their bread, it is accompanied with large roasted garlic cloves!!  LOVE!  I have been meaning to try to make this for Brandt for some time.  Spread the cloves on your bed, heaven!!

We started with the Sauteed Calamari.  I grew up eating Calamari quite often, being that my Dad is obsessed with it.  Sauteed Calamari needs to be prepared quite perfectly and unfortunately here it was tough, chewy and bland.  Not something I would recommend.

Next we tried their Homemade Meatballs.  I actually really enjoyed these meatballs.  They were not filled with much breading and were nice, moist and cheesy.  I would get these again.

Our table also shared the "Market Toast" with roasted garlic, parmigano, provolone, tomato, prosciutto, and buffalo mozzarella.  Had a nice, fresh, crisp flavor.

We probably could have left at this point, but no we kept going.

For the Entrees..

I had the Snapper Livornaise, snapper with tomatoes, capers, garlic, and basil.  Delicious.  I would Recommend. The waitress did make a good suggestion with this one, however like I said, she suggested everything!

Our friend ordered the Chicken Marsala. I love how they put a good portion of mushrooms on the dish.

Brandt ordered the Ravioli Aragosta with spiny lobster and mushroom ravioli.  Brandt said it was tasty, but the lobster was a little well done and tough to eat.  Probably wouldn't order again.

Sean ordered one of Cucina's specialties, the Short Rib.  It was served with risotto.  Risotto is probably another one of my all time favorite things to eat.   Very tender short rib.

And if now that wasn't enough..we tried what they call the "Best" dessert.  Bread Pudding.  Now I am not a bread pudding expert.  This was probably the second time in my life that I ever had bread pudding, so I cant really compare, but the general consensus was it was fair.  I did enjoy the butterscotch that topped the pudding.

Well, we tried ALOT and ate ALOT.  I would love to go back to enjoy their nightlife.  I assume that during the season it is a little livelier, as we were there on a Thursday night and it was quite quiet.  Cucina Dell'Arte has a great atmosphere and is a great place to bring friends and family.  Some dishes were good and some not so good, but its a place I would return.  I would love to see that Disco Ball Drop!

CHUCK BURGER JOINT- Palm Beach Gardens, FL

When you think of a fast food burger joint, there are three names that come to mind!  Well add another one to your list, Chuck Burger Joint. They pride themselves in Hormone and Antibiotic Free beef!  YES, thats right, you will enjoy a quality burger that is made to order and fast!  Chuck Burger Joint, which is located in Midtown in Palm Beach Gardens is a great place to enjoy a burger, fries, and maybe a milkshake with homemade custard.  Now just because the beef is hormone free doesn't mean everything is low fat, but it sure is good and they do use all fresh and good quality products.

Upon entering, you will be able to see right into the kitchen where they are preparing all the yummy burgers!

Of course we ordered a Burger with Fries. Guess what?  You can add a Fried Egg, My favorite!  The fries at Chuck have zero trans fat and have 25% less fat then other fries.  So maybe you wont feel as guilty here.

But I had to try some of their homemade custard.  So I had a Purple Cow.  I grew up on Welch's grape soda and vanilla ice cream...SOO GOOD!

I cant wait to go back and try one of their shakes.  They have one with peanut butter and bananas.YUMM!

Chuck has kosher hot dogs ,chicken sandwiches, turkey burgers, and the bella burger (beef is substituted for a portabella mushroom). If are looking for a cold beer or wine with your burger, they have that too.  Chuck is a great place to take the kiddos as well a nice place for lunch during the work week!  Try Chuck, you will love it!

ECHO - Palm Beach, FL

Birthday dinner 2 of 2 consisted of a place where I heard they had the best drinks in Palm Beach. Echo even has their very own mixologist!  I would like to know how someone becomes a mixologist. Seems to me that would be the best career ever!  Who wouldn't want to come up with crazy concoctions and have to try it all day.  At 5 o'clock you wouldn't even have to go to happy hour.  So, if I can't be a mixologist, I definitely want to try some of their creations!
Echo is not only known for its fun drinks, but also for its exquisite food.  Echo celebrates dishes from China, Thailand, Japan, and Vietnam with a Palm Beach Twist.  The restaurant is very slick, trendy, and a great place to people watch. Echo has a large sushi bar, so it is a great place to watch your Sushi prepared to order.  All the food is delightful with an extraordinary presentation.

I started with the Buddha's Fizz, Absolute Red Ruby, Fresh Lime Juice, Cranberry Juice,
Champagne Floater!  A great way to start off my Birthday Day 2!  And who could resist a drink that is PINK!

And then later in the night I had one of their specials for the evening with Ginger...AMAZING!!!!

Brandt had a Dirty Martini!  Always Classy!

To start, we shared the Duo of Tuna and Salmon Tartare..Really Fresh and Tasty....Loved the presentation!

As well as The Hurricane Roll with Tempura Shrimp, Alaskan King Crab, Asparagus and Avocado!

Our Friends started with The Echo. Tempura Shrimp, Cucumber and Avocado

For Dinner I wanted to try Echo's Chicken Pad Thai.  It was very good, would of liked more of a "Peanuty" taste, but overall I was satisfied.

I think the best dish of the night was the Braised Short Ribs.  They melted in your mouth and the Red Chili sauce was amazing!  I would order this next time!

Mike ordered the Sesame Chicken with toasted sesame and sweet garlic honey sauce.

Brandt ordered the Szechwan Peppercorn Steak, Filet Mignon, Red and Green Peppers, Shiitake and Enoki Mushrooms, Lychee, and Garlic Soy!  Very nice presentation in a hot skillet!  Also, very tender, cooked to perfection.

For Dessert we had their specialty.  Chocolate Chip Souffle!   LOVED LOVED LOVED!

What a night!  Echo is definitely a one of a kind restaurant!  Go to Echo for a trendy, hot spot ! A Great bar with Fun drinks and great Asian Flare. Everything on their menu is done with an Echo Twist.  You will leave not only with a full tummy, but with an experience you wont forget!
